Severe flooding in Mozambique
Donations will support emergency relief activities in Mozambique connected to recent severe flooding
About this Giving Opportunity
Mozambique is facing a devastating flooding crisis in January 2026, as weeks of relentless rainfall have overwhelmed rivers and low-lying areas, submerging communities, destroying homes, cutting off vital roads, and wiping out years of hard-earned livelihoods.
As the situation continues to evolve, UNICEF estimates that the number of affected people could reach 800,000 within the coming weeks, including approximately 400,000 children.
Thousands of families have been displaced, loss of life reported, critical infrastructure has been damaged, and many rural communities are still inaccessible.
The affected communities are now exposed to health risks and further displacement. Flooding is not just destroying homes, schools, health centers, it is turning unsafe water, disease outbreaks and malnutrition into a deadly threat for children.
UNICEF, in close coordination with the government and local partners, is responding on the ground, delivering lifesaving support such as high-performance tents, clean drinking water, healthcare services, and essential relief supplies to affected communities.
We invite you to stand with the people of Mozambique during this critical time.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps save lives, rebuild communities, and restore hope. By coming together, we can turn our collective effort into real impact.
Let’s show the power of collectivity, where every contribution counts. Please donate and share.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference for those who need it most.
